You can’t go wrong with a witchy black-and-white theme for your Halloween porch decor. Come see how we created a spooky setting for trick or treating using vintage items, dollar store finds and things from the yard.

Who knows if we’ll even have trick or treaters this year. But this witch wasn’t about to let October pass without putting out some spooky Halloween porch decor.

As is my custom, I decorated using a lot of and . In fact, I didn’t buy a single new thing for this year’s Halloween porch, not even a pumpkin!

Everything I used came from our attic or our yard.

Normally, I go overboard with the pumpkins at Halloween. But the shipment was late to arrive at our favorite patch, so I decided to forgo the real pumpkins this year. I used some instead.

Rather than the traditional fall mums or pumpkin topairy, I filled our porch urns with sticks from the yard and decorated them with crows, rubber bats and flying skeletons.

Never underestimate the spookiness of a black crow on a branch!

I love decorating my and this side of the porch for the holidays. Its normal black-and-white color scheme is so easy to riff on for the holidays. You can add a pop of color, or stay all neutral as I did for Halloween.

Opening these lanterns to fill them with plastic skulls and skeletons gave me a bit of a fright. Wasps were nesting inside, but I used some of my own magic potion to banish them.
